Main Research Areas of the Sector
- formation and maintenance of databases of socio-demographic, economic, migration, labour-market, and other indicators used in models;
- collection, verification, and standardisation of data from state, international, and open sources, including the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, Eurostat, the World Bank, the United Nations, and the OECD;
- work with metadata and documentation, including the maintenance of catalogues of variables, sources, descriptions of data-collection methodologies, formats, and related materials;
- automation of data processing, including ETL processes, Python/R scripts, and SQL repositories;
- development of digital tools for modelling, visualisation, and analytics, including dashboards, online calculators, and interactive maps;
- administration of the server, website, data-storage systems, and computing clusters for simulation models;
- implementation of modern IT solutions, including GIS technologies, big data, and cloud computing, in research on socio-economic processes;
- technical support for microsimulation, agent-based, and system-dynamics models used by the department;
- development of information and analytical systems for monitoring socio-economic indicators;
- participation in the preparation of scientific articles on methods of digitalisation, modelling, and data processing;
- consultative support for other departments of the Institute on issues related to IT, digital data, and software.
